DescriptionMan's single-breasted top coat of a deep gray twill-woven wool, heavily fulled, with black plastic buttons. The front closure has three large black plastic buttons on the proper right with corresponding keyhole buttonsholes on the left. A fourth button, smaller than the others and with a corresponding hole, is located at the neck below the collar on the proper right side. The coat is constructed with a center back seam with a vent, and a side back seam close to each under arm. The sleeves are made of two shaped pieces with a three-inch-wide, faux, turned-up cuff. All the straight seams are flat-felled, with all the seams machine top stitched approximately 1/2 inch from the seam line. The seams are finished with a silk tape. A patch pocket with a flap is stitched to each side front over the hip. These pockets are faced with a cotton fabric. The proper right side has a smaller pocket within the larger one. A fourth pocket is sewn into the half-lining over the proper right side chest. The coat is lined halfway down each side front, across the shoulders, and down the sleeves with a black silk fabric.
