DescriptionVery long flintlock fowler made for Nathaniel Hubell. The flint lock flowler has an engraved lock plate consisting of a scrolling pattern at front and back, and the name "R. HOMER" engraved in the center directly infront of and covered by the hammer. The Key plate is engraved with "Made for Nathaniel Hubell", and is secured with two screws to the stock. There are five brass thimbles along the bottom edge of the stock which hold the ram rod in place. The butt plate is made of brass and is engraved on the top return section with "Benoni Hills". There is an inlaid brass plate behind the barrel engraved with the date "1757". The trigger guard is made of brass and the trigger itself is steel and is flat with a scrolling section at the bottom. The barrel is octagonal at the rear and quickly tappers to a rounded shape within the first foot of the rear of the barrel. There is a very short front sight at the muzzle end of the barrel with the rear sight being a 'v' groove at the rear end of the barrel.
