DescriptionMan's sports coat in a twill-woven, uneven plaid (4 1/4 wide x 4 1/2 high) in autumn colors of browns, rust, and gold. The single-breasted front closure has three plastic buttons on the proper right, faux shell or bone, with corresponding machine-made buttonholes on the proper left. The notched lapels are stitched to a turn-down collar. The coat is constructed with side darts that are stitched from under the arms down, slashed by the hip pockets. The back has a center back seam and a set of side back seams that are almost straight in shape. The center back seam has a vent nine inches long. The sleeves are made from two shaped pieces, a top and a bottom. There is a false vent at the bottom of each seam at the back of the arm, with a one-inch opening sewn right at the end. Two buttons, smaller than those on the front, are stitched to each cuff area. There are three pockets on the outside of the coat front. One, an upturned flap pocket, is at the proper left breast. The other two are double welt pockets with flaps at each hip. The two interior pockets, one on each side at the breast, are double welt pockets. Each has a woven label sewn on the front. The coat is half-lined with a brown polyester fabric that covers each side front, across the shoulders and over the vent in the back. The sleeves are lined with a white polyester. The side back seams are finished by turning over the seam allowance and stitching. The center back seam is finished by turning the seam allowance over to one side and top stitching.
