DescriptionMan's suit coat (.a) of a light-colored, uneven-weave fabric with faux tortoise shell buttons. The coat is half-lined with a light green polyester fabric. The single-breasted front closure has two faux tortoise shell buttons on the proper right side. The buttonholes are machine stitched. The front is constructed with two darts on each side; one extending down from chest height and the other beginning at the armscye, each ending at the slash pocket (with flap) over the hip. The back is constructed with a center back seam and a side back seam extending from each armscye. The center back seam has a vent, 12 5/8 inches long. There is a slash pocket with a flap at each side front, over the hip. A smaller pocket is stitched into the one on the proper right. A third slash pocket, with an upturned flap, is at the proper left breast. Each side front also has a double welt pocket at chest height in the lining. The sleeves are constructed of two shaped pieces, with a faux vent at the cuff and three smaller plastic, faux tortoise shell buttons. The half-lining is made from a light green polyester. The side fronts and sleeves are totally lined. The lining also extends across the shoulders and down the back vent. The seam allowances are overcast and pressed under as a finish.

Man's suit pants (.b) of a light-colored, uneven-weave fabric. The fly front is a silver-colored metal zipper, with a silver-colored metal trouser hook at the waistband. A plastic button, not original, stitched on to the proper left side, buttons into the body on the zipper facing at the top of the zipper. The 1 1/2-inch-wide waistband has nine belt loops, two inches long and one half inch wide, stitched to the front of the waistband and below onto the body of the pants. There is a very small (1/2 inch long) vent at the top of the center back seam. The side pocket openings angle towards the front. There are two slash pockets, one on each side of the back. The proper left pocket is buttoned. This button, like the button on the zipper facing, is not original. The waistband is faced with a twill-woven fabric, probably synthetic and cotton blend. The same fabric is used for the pockets and fly front facing. The seams are finished with machine overcast stitch.
