DescriptionMan's sport coat made from a brown fabric, probably wool and synthetic blend, with brass buttons. The coat is half-lined with a light brown polyester fabric, printed in yellow with sports motifs of crossed golf clubs, a sail boat, and a tennis racket. The single-breasted front closing has two brass buttons, stamped with an insignia, on the proper right side. The buttonholes are machine stitched. The front is constructed with two darts on each side: one extending from the patch pocket at the hip up to the center of the chest, the other also beginning at the patch pocket and ending at the armscye. The back has a center back seam, and a side back seam extending again from each armscye. There is a back vent in the center seam, extending up ten inches from the hem. The sleeves are constructed of two pieces, an upper and lower sleeve, with a faux cuff vent and three smaller brass buttons on each arm. There is a patch pocket with a flap on each side front. The pocket on the proper right has a smaller pocket sewn inside. A third slash pocket with an upturned flap is located at the proper left breast. Each side front also has an interior pocket, a double welt pocket sewn into the lining. The coat is half-lined with polyester fabric as described above. The lining extends down each side front and across the shoulders at the back. The back vent is lined, as are the sleeves. The seams are overcast and turned under to finish.

A book of matches from "HOP BROOK / victuals and libations / 77 WEST STREET / SIMSBURY, CT." were found in the patch pockets, proper right side. The matches have been removed and the book stored in the file.
