DescriptionPainting of William Blodgett by an unknown artist -- possibly a self-portrait, but this has not been confirmed. Three-quarter length portrait of a middle-aged man wearing a white wig. He is wearing a red coat, gray waistcoat with a white frilled shirt and neckband, and has his left hand in his vest. On the right is a green felt-covered table with brass beaded tacks on the edges, upon which sits a round pewter inkwell holding a quill pen, and a white card on which his name and occupation are written.
