DescriptionWoman's two-piece suit, consisting of a dress (a) and a jacket (b). The dress is made of pale blue and heathered gray, twill-woven, houndstooth plaid wool, along with pale blue twill-woven wool and pale blue wool / polyester double knit. The dress is sleeveless and has a round neckline. The dress is constructed with a yoke made of the pale blue twill. The waistband, which is 2 3/4 inches wide, is made of the double-knit. The dress is cut very straight, with only slight tapering at the waistband as a decorative balance to the seamiry of the yoke. The dress opens down the center back and fastens with a 22-inch plastic zipper headed by a hook & eye. The dress is lined with gray-blue synthetic fabric woven with a slight rib.
The jacket is waist length and has a boxy fit. The collar is 2 1/2 inches wide and the jacket can either button all the way up to the collar or turn back in short lapels. The center front opening fastens with four pale blue plastic dished buttons, with welted buttonholes. The back is constructed with a yoke and waistband which provide style but not fit. A vertical line of seaming runs from the waist band to the yoke on each side of the front and back; again, this provides style but not fit. The long, straight sleeves are decorated with one button at the wrist. The jacket lining is gray polyester. There is a woven tape label stitched to the back of the neck: "Jack Clarke / HAND TAILORED IN DUBLIN / IRELAND."
