DescriptionWoman's girdle of peach-colored brocaded synthetic fiber. The girdle is constructed in two separate panels which lace up the back through metal grommets (lacing is now missing) and hook in the front with keyhole eyes and short, metal pegs, as well as traditional hooks and eyes. A three-inch-wide band of elastic is stitched across the back of each lower panel, and a two-inch-wide band of elastic is stitched across the front of each upper panel. The girdle is boned in the seams and between seams. Four elastic straps with buckles along the bottom edge of the girdle would attach to stockings. The girdle is lined with twill-woven peach cotton only over the seams and along the opening edges. Attached to one of the stockings clips is the original paper hang tag giving the price of $22.50.
