DescriptionThis short-sleeved, loose, pink plain-woven cotton dress was constructed from a single piece of fabric, folded at the shoulders and sewn at the sides. Embroidery work decorating the front of the dress was done in black, white, pink, blue, and white cotton embroidery threads. Ruching at the shoulderline is created by three 3 1/4-inch rows of stitching. The hem is 1 1/4-inch wide. The neck and sleeve openings are edged with 3/8-inch bobbin lace. The garment is closed on a 4 3/4-inch placket at the center back, with two 1/4-inch metal snaps.
