DescriptionThis single-breasted olive jacket is made from a plain-woven wool. A vent at the center back measures 12 1/2 inches. An applied strip of self-fabric (15 x 1 1/2 inches) serves as a decorative belt at the back of the jacket; seam lines provide shaping to the back. The front of the coat has two breast patch pockets. The undersides of these pocket flaps are lined in an olive twill-woven cotton. Two flap pockets are found at the hip. These pockets are fully lined in the same twill-woven olive. All four of the pockets have gold metal buttons depicting the eagle and American flag motif. These buttons are 1/2-inch, identical to the ones found at the self-fabric epaulets at the shoulders. Four one-inch buttons of a similar nature are found at the center front. The collar and sleeves are both two-pieced. Two gold pins are found on the collar. The pin on the right side reads "U.S." and the one on the left depicts two bird wings with a propeller in the middle. There are five patches on the jacket ranging in size from 2 x 1 1/2 inches and 4 1/2 x 3 inches. All of the interior seams have been finished with bias tape.
