DescriptionWoman's peasant-style dress of pale yellow cotton voile, colorfully embroidered in cross stitch with flowers around the center front opening and at the top of each sleeve. The waistline, which is dropped, is smocked with the same embroidery threads, which are variegated-color plied silk. The wrists of the long sleeves are also smocked. The round neckline is closely gathered into a self-fabric binding, which is covered with blanket-stitched green embroidery. The raglan sleeve seams, side seams, and underarm sleeve seams are covered with green embroidery in a slanted stitch. The center front opening extends 5 inches and closes with green cord ties at the top. The skirt is knee length. A woven tape label is stitched to the back of the neck: "Sport Shop / G. Fox & Co. / INC / HARTFORD."

Woven tape label, red on white stitched on the hem: "MADE IN HUNGARY / ENTIRELY HAND MADE / GUARANTEED FAST COLORS."
