DescriptionThis white child's hat is made from a woven cotton and decorated with white and yellow silk plain-woven ribbons. At the center front and right side, there are two 1 1/2-inch lengths of gathered yellow ribbon, applied vertically. At the top left side of the crown, there is a white ribbon, gathered into the shape of a flower. At the center back of the crown, two-inch-wide ribbon is applied in an intricate bow with two long tails (approximately 10 1/2 inches x 14 inches). The edge of the 1 3/4-inch brim is trimmed with a white cotton braid. The underside of the brim is covered with 3/4-inch-wide yellow ribbon, tacked into repeating 1/4-inch pleats. The crown of the hat is lined with a loose plain-woven buckram. A 17 1/2-inch-long length of narrow white elastic has been attached at the left and right sides of the hat, inside the brim.
