DescriptionWoman's dress of black polyester overlaid with black machine made lace. The lace, which is of a chantilly lace, is patterned with flowers and bows. The dress has a sweetheart neckline, and broad shoulder straps which are cut in a double curved shape. The neckline and shoulders are lined with white organdy to contrast with the rest of the dress lining, which is black. The waistline is high and is defined by a pink ribbon under the lace; a double bow of the ribbon is stitched at the center front waistline. The dress front is fitted with both vertical and horizontal darts. The dress back is fitted with vertical darts. The center back opening is a 15 1/4-inch-long metal zipper. There is a woven tape label inside the left side of the back: "G. FOX & CO. / HARTFORD CONNECTICUT." Black cords at the shoulder are to aid in hanging the dress for storage.
