DescriptionWoman's three piece suit, consisting of a blouse (a), skirt (b), and jacket (c) made of fabric woven with white and metallic gold threads in an offset cross pattern. The blouse (a) is sleeveless and has a wide, round neckline. It has a faux front opening created by a pleat decorated with four large gold filigree ball buttons. The actual opening is a zipper down the center back. The blouse is lined with sheer white polyester (or other synthetic fabric). An International Ladies' Garment Workers Union label is stitched next to the zipper on the inside.
The skirt (b) is smoothly fitted into the waistband with darts. It is above-knee length and has a center back zipper opening. Four box pleats are set into the seams around the lower section of the skirt. The skirt is lined with the sheer white polyester, like the blouse.
The jacket (c) is waist-length and has short lapels. The long sleeves are straight. Horizontal bust dart provide fit. There is no closing mechanism on the opening. Cream colored, twill-woven polyester is used for the lining. There are two woven tape labels stitched to the lining: "G. FOX & CO. / The Specialty Shop / FIFTH FLOOR" at the back of the neck; "Christian Dior - New York Inc" inside the proper right opening edge.
