DescriptionWoman's navy blue, three piece suit of twill-woven wool / polyester (probably) blend, consisting of a jacket (a), vest (b), and skirt (c). The jacket (a) is waist-length, with long, straight sleeves. The collar is 2 inches wide and the lapels are high. The center front opening fastens with three ball-shaped buttons covered with rhinestones. Two faux pocket flaps on the sides of the front are purely decorative. Across the center back is an 11 1/2-inch long tab, with welted button holes at the ends (the buttons are missing). The button holes on the front of the jacket are also welted. The jacket is lined with twill-woven navy blue (or black) polyester. There are two woven tape labels: at the back of the neck: "G. FOX & CO. / The Specialty Shop / FIFTH FLOOR" and the inside proper right side opening edge: "ben zuckerman / NEW YORK."
The vest is double-breasted and fastens with three pairs of rhinestone buttons, and hidden snaps. The neckline is V-shaped. The lining matches that of the jacket. The vest is fitted in front with long vertical darts.
The knee-length, straight skirt is fitted into the waistband with a series of darts across the front. It opens with a 7"-long metal zipper on the left side back seam. The skirt also has the same lining as the jacket and vest. Hem lace is used; also hanging loops are stitched inside the waistband lining.
