NotesSubject Note: St. Panteleimon Church on Becket Street in Hartford is one of four parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (others are in Stratford and Southbury), formed by refugees from the Bolshevik Revolution. St. Panteleimon’s parish began in 1958 and the small church with many icons was built in 1972. The services are held in Church Slavonic, and there is a choir and a long-time cantor, N. Semyanko. The priest is Dionisy Nalitov. The church members are active in community activities. CCHAP attended the three hour long Good Friday service in 2010, during which, as with all services here, the congregation remains standing.
