NotesSubject Note: St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Norwalk is home to a Greek parish many of whom have roots in the Pontian Greek community originally living in the Caucasus. This was the home parish of Ilias Kementzides, National Heritage Fellow and beloved lyra player and his family, with whom CCHAP worked to document and present his music. He often performed at the summer festival there. This community presents an annual festival in August, featuring music and dance from their resident dance group, along with guest artists, arts and crafts, and Greek food sales. The church is home to a Greek school and folk dance group, among other activities. (Source: https://stgeorgect.org/)
