DescriptionMan's shirt of white cotton, with a 14 1/2-inch-deep, U-shaped bib front, which is heavily starched. The fabric of the bib is woven in a small diamond pattern, while the rest of the shirt is plain-woven. The 3/4-inch-high band collar is worked with a buttonhole at the center back for attaching a starched collar. The center front opening would have fastened with four studs in the area of the bib. The long sleeves are set smoothly into the armscye; they end in 2 3/4-inch-wide cuffs, which are heavily starched like the bib. The cuffs would have fastened with studs. The hem of the shirt is rounded up at the side seams. The shirt is constructed with a narrow yoke across the back of the shoulders; a narrow tape loop is stitched vertically across the yoke at the center back below the collar band.
