DescriptionWholecloth quilt consisting of a glazed blue and white copperplate-printed cotton top, batting, and a plain-woven linen backing; these three layers are hand-stitched together in a quilted pattern of square diamonds. The printed blue design consists of various small flowers and leaves on a curving vine. The initials "E.P." are cross-stitched onto the backing of the quilt, at the center of one side.

The top is pieced together from many pieces of printed cotton; the pattern is not always lined up from block to block. The backing consits of many pieces of plain-woven linen. Both the top and backing were probably used previously.

Condition: One quadrant of the top has multiple iron red stains. The top is faded unevenly. The linen backing has many small areas of wear.
