DescriptionPreliminary drawings for proposed alterations to E.L. Ropkins & Co. brewery include a basement floor plan, a main floor plan, a transverse section, a longitudinal section, a section through the boiler room, and two sketch plans. Proposed reinforcements include concrete slab floors, steel roof trusses, and repairs to stone walls.
NotesSubject Note: Edgar L. Ropkins was the proprietor of Ropkins & Co., a brewery at 232 to 242 Sheldon Street, Hartford. During prohibition, Ropkins & Co., produced Bunny Dry Ale, a non-intoxicating beverage made from malt and hops only. According to a note on the wrapper, the building was destroyed by fire in 1941.
