DescriptionTied comforter with a pieced top in a patriotic pattern of red, white and blue plain-woven cotton rectangles; the blue rectangles have a field of small white stars. The comforter consists of the pieced top, thick batting, and a plain-woven cotton backing; these three layers are joined by small red, white and blue wool yarn knots at the corner of each pieced rectangle. Each white rectangle on the comforter has a hand-written black inscription of a bible verse, religious verse, or religious quote. The Lord's Prayer is hand-written in the center blocks and portions of the Sermon on the Mount are hand-written at the left side. The backing is also plain-woven cotton in a red, white, blue and tan plaid. The quilt is finished back to front.

Condition: The quilt has minor stains on the pieced top. A few of the ink inscriptions are fading. The backing has one tear.
