The double-breasted front closure has four pairs of large, black, plastic buttons, with cotton cording stitched into the front edge seams for the button loops. The deep shawl collar of a dark brown mink is six inches wide at the center back. The coat is constructed with a center back seam with a buttoned vent, and side back seams set very close to the under arm. Additional shaping is made with a dart extending from the armscye down each side front, also very close to the under arm. A flap pocket is set over each hip on the side fronts. The proper right side pocket has a smaller pocket sewn inside. An additional double welt pocket is sewn into the lining on each side front. The pockets are lined with a black cotton fabric. The sleeves are made of two shaped pieces, with no cuffs. The straight seams are topstitched, with the machine stitching placed half an inch away from the seam line. The coat is entirely lined with light brown mink. A chain is riveted into the center back at the neck for hanging.
