DescriptionColorless, pressed glass tumbler with tapered sides and a flat bottom. The tumbler is decorated with a large red transfer circle with superimposed black transfer words and designs inside: "INSURANCE CITY OPEN" is printed over a flaming torch; below that are the letters "I. C. O.", below that are two crossed golf clubs. "PREMIUM CLUB" is printed in black enamel below the red circle.
NotesSubject Note: The Insurance City Open began at the Wethersfield Country Club in 1952 as a fund-raising event for the Greater Hartford Jaycees. In 1967, the name of the golf tournament changed to the Greater Hartford Open (at times associated with Sammy Davis Jr.). In 1984, the tournament moved to the Tournament Players Club in Cromwell, Connecticut. In 1985, Canon began sponsoring the Greater Hartford Open, and in 2004, the event became known as the Buick Championship.
