DescriptionWoman's hat of finely woven straw with an up-turned brim that is wider in front than in back. The crown is open at the top and edged with black grosgrain ribbon, as is the edge of the brim. The crown is encircled by a wide, black grosgrain ribbon that is looped into a bow at the back. The inside of the crown is edged with black grosgrain ribbon. This ribbon is stitched with a woven tape label: "G. FOX & CO. / EST 1847 HARTFORD."
