DescriptionWoman's hat in a curved oval shape, covered with iridescent tan sequins worked in maple-leaf shapes, which are outlined with bronze-colored beads. The sequins around the maple-leaves are more randomly applied but completely cover the surface. Two maple-leaves on the proper left side of the front have extensions over the hat edge covered with faceted dome-shaped beads. A large-meshed net in a tan color is stitched to the front of the hat. The ends are gathered into velvet tabs. The underside edge of the hat is stitched with a brown grosgrain ribbon. The underside of the hat is a double layer of stiff mesh. Two woven tape labels are applied to the grosgrain ribbon: "G. FOX & CO. / EST 1847 HARTFORD" and "22."
