DescriptionRound, wheel-thrown, brown stoneware jar with a round foot, sides that taper from top to bottom, and a narrow rim with three semi-circular lobes cut into the ceramic. The jar (.a) also has a small rim, in the shape of a semi-circle. The jar is covered with a mottled glaze in earth tones on the exterior and with a light white or green glaze on the interior. An irregular line of scalloped reddish-brown glaze circles the outside of the jar.

The jar came with a rectangular, yellowed business card (.b) that reads, "CREASMAN STONEWARE/ elaine a. creasman/ pottery coop// bittersweet farm/ 779 east main st./ branford, ct. 06405/ (203) 481-4708/ LEAD-FREE/ SAFE FOR:/ OVEN/ MICROWAVE/ DISHWASHER".
