DescriptionSoldiers in uniform stand in ranks in the courtyard of a large stone palace, while crowds of people in the interior of the building throw furniture from the windows. Chairs, tables, cushions, a pitcher, a bottle, a book, and several paintings in gilt frames fly through the air. Some men lie on the ground, dead or wounded. Two soldiers carry an injured comrade. Some soldiers are on horseback. In the background, some men in civilian clothes are entering the palace through an arched doorway.
