DescriptionBust-length portrait of a young man, seen from behind, looking over his right shoulder. He wears Renaissance costume, including a cap, apparently of velvet, with a feather attached with a brooch. A cape decorated with braid is fastened with a cord. His tunic has what appears to be a shawl collar and full, slashed sleeves. His dark hair falls in curls to his shoulders.
NotesSubject Note: Probably based on a Renaissance portrait or painting, or possibly on a nineteenth-century Renaissance revival work. (Finlay 8/8/2003)
