DescriptionThis plain-woven cotton/linen bag is seamed along the bottom and one edge (side). The hem at the opening has been held in place with a chain-stitch. Some of the edges of this 1/2-inch hem are fraying. Eight inches of the chain-stitch have come out along the hem. Printed on the front of the bag is "HENRY FRENCH & SON/ HARTFORD, CONN./ [horizontal line] / H. & L. CHASE bags, 233 State St., Boston".
