DescriptionSmall girl's dress of white cotton woven with rows of dots alternating with rows of openwork. The dress has a square yoke with a round neckline edged with a ruffle of scalloped whitework embroidery. The yoke is made of alternating vertical rows of whitework insertion and ruched lightweight, white cotton fabric. Scalloped whitework edges the yoke. The dress is gathered along the bottom edge of the yoke at both front and back. The lower skirt is embellished with four rows of tucks. The hem is 3 3/8 inches deep. The sleeves are straight and long. A 5 1/4-inch-long dart is taken at the outside of each wrist to taper the sleeve slightly. The left sleeve is pieced into the shoulder area. The center back opening extends 12 1/4 inches; there is no visible means of closure.
