DescriptionView of a chapel or church on a college campus. Steps lead to a recessed doorway with a window and a tablet with an illegible inscription over it. Two Ionic columns frame the door. The building appears to be built of stone or brick, with quoins at the corners. There is a round window in the pediment and a clock and a weathervane on the steeple. Trees, bushes, a notice board, and two people, a man and a woman, are on the grassy lawn in the foreground. Clouds are in the sky.
NotesSubject Note: Harkness Chapel is on the grounds of Connecticut College (formerly Connecticut College for Women) in New London, Connecticut. (Finlay 4/22/2003)
