DescriptionA medal (a) commemorating the centennial of the birth of Colonel Samuel Colt (1814-1914). The front of the commemorative coin has a relief portrait of Colt. The reverse side has a wreath around the border with a horse at the top center. Inscribed in the center is: "TO/ COMMEMORATE/ THE/ ONE HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY/ OF THE BIRTH OF/ COLONEL SAMUEL COLT/ INVENTOR AND MANUFACTURER OF/ REVOLVING FIREARMS/ JULY 19, 1814." The medal is in its original box (b-d). The box is made of cardboard and has a dark green exterior. The box is in three pieces.
