DescriptionA medal awarded to H. W. Conklin on 18 April 1862 for his admission into the Washington Commandery No. 1, Knights Templar in Hartford, Conn. The top piece of the medal has a bar with a floral design and the Connecticut state seal in the center. The ribbon is striped with white on the left and black on the right. A Maltese cross is suspended from the ribbon. In the center of the cross is a raised circular piece with a relief silhouette of George Washington. The back of the medal is engraved with Conklin's name and admission date.
