DescriptionGirl's coat of green/black shot silk with a cape extending over the shoulders. The cape is attached under a narrow turn-down collar; both the cape and the collar are trimmed with black silk-wrapped cord twisted to form a decorative braid. The shoulder line of the cape is decorated with five dark green silk thread-covered buttons on each side. The coat opens for the length of the center front and fastens with six pairs of green silk thread-covered buttons, hooked together with cord loops. The buttons extend only for the length of the cape, which comes eleven inches down the center front. Black silk braid trims the coat's opening edges, and continues along the bottom edge. The coat has a dropped shoulderline and long sleeves which are pleated into the back of the armscye; the wrist openings are trimmed with the black silk braid. The coat is constructed with two front panels and a single back panel; the side seams are stitched with the back panel extending over the front panels, so that the pink silk lining is visible in a strip along the sides. The lining of the front panels is quilted to the cotton wadding which interlines the entire coat. The quilting is stitched in a diamond grid pattern.
