DescriptionA commemorative Civil War pin in the shape of a musket. Inscribed on the musket barrel is "R. O. TYLER POST 50/ 1865/ 1874." The pin is pinned to a piece of paper. Handwritten in black ink on the paper is: "Fourth Infantry (1st Heavy Art.)/ Left Hartford 6/10/61/ In Peninsula/ Campaign with 71 guns in siege train/ under command of Col. Robt. O. Tyler./ Col. Tyler promoted to Brig. Gen. Nov. 1862/ Second Light Battery./ Left Conn. 10/15/62 was part of Art./ Reserve in command of Gen. R. O. Tyler./ "A History of Conn." E. B. Sanford 1887."
