DescriptionA small round button with a white background and red and blue text. Along the top and bottom in red its says "TRAVELERS/ ACE." In the center in blue it says "W. S. S.," which is an acronym for War Savings Stamps.
NotesHistorical Note: During World War I, the U. S. Treasury Department began issuing $5.00 War Savings Certificate stamps and 25¢ Thrift stamps, which were then used to accumulate the money necessary to buy the War Savings Certificate stamp. These stamps could ultimately be redeemed for Treasury Certificates or War Bonds.
