DescriptionDress: This mauve silk crepe dress has decorative smocking at the neckline and cuffs. The embroidery thread is dyed to match and is two-ply, z-twist. Smocking at the cuffs is 1 3/4 inches wide. The edges of the cuffs are finished with blanket stitches, identical to the finishing at the edges of the flat collar. Smocking at the neckline is 3 1/4 inches wide and continues around the entire dress. Five white shell buttons (5/8 inches in diameter) are at the center back of the dress.
Bloomers: elastic is inserted in 1/4-inch casing at the leg openings and in 3/4-inch casing around the waist. At the center back, the casing is open, exposing the elastic, which is black rubber covered by white cotton.
