DescriptionA badge for the 23rd reunion of the 1st Connecticut Volunteer Heavy Artillery Regiment (C. V. H. ARTY.) for the 50th anniversary of muster on May 22, 1861. At the top of the badge is a pin-back button with a black and white image of Robert O. Tyler. Beneath the button is a red ribbon with gold lettering.
NotesHistorical Note: The 1st Connecticut Volunteer Heavy Artillery Regiment was formed in the spring of 1861, as the Fourth Volunteer Infantry. In January of 1862, the regiment was converted into a heavy artillery unit.
