DescriptionDoll clothes worn by a doll belonging to Mary Caroline Pierson.

(.46) Dress made of white muslin. Silk ribbon is woven through at the waist, on the bodice, the cuffs, and the skirt. Embroidery and cutwork decorate the lower half of the skirt. Long sleeves. Five mother-of-pearl buttons down the back for closure.

(.47) Dress made of white muslin. Dress is decorated with lace at the neck, cuffs, waist, and skirt. There are pink silk ribbons along the lace at the waist. Long sleeves. No buttons.

(.48) Dress made of white muslin. Dress is decorated with lace at the neck and cuff. There is an embroidered ruffle at the hem. Short sleeves. Hook-and-eye on backside of collar.

(.49) Dress made of white linen. There is a blue linen ribbon around the neck under a lace overlay. There is lace on the cuffs. Short sleeves. White button on backside of collar.

(.50) Sleeveless dress with lace decorating the neck, armholes, and hem. The skirt is gathered at the waist. Two mother-of-pearl buttons on back of dress for closure.

(.51) Undershirt made of white muslin with lace at the hem. V-neck collar.

(.52) Underdrawers made of white linen. The hem is pleated and has lace edging. One mother-of-pearl button on the backside of the waist for closure.

(.53) Petticoat made of cream wool with feather stitched decoration at the hem. White muslin band along the waist. Hook-and-eye closure on the side of the waist.

(.54) Cream color coat made of ribbed cotton velvet. It is double breasted with six mother-of-pearl buttons down the front. There is lace around the collar. The cuff hems and bottom hem are beginning to fray.

(.55) Blue felt cloak that has a hood lined with blue silk. There are blue silk ribbons at the neck. Wide collar. Hook-and-eye closure at the front of the collar.

(.56a-b) Pair of maroon leather shoes. There is a maroon cotton rosette at the toes. Stamped into the leather on the sole of the foot: "10" and [image of a Roman man] "DEPOSE" beneath image.
