DescriptionPortraits of Helen Gage Hatch from the age of about five to about sixty. Most are studio portraits, but one is an amateur snapshot. The earliest portrait shows the subject as a small girl wearing a checked dress. She is also depicted wearing her wedding gown and veil, wearing a long fur piece and holding a muff, wearing a cross on a necklace, and posing in front of a painted backdrop depicting the deck of a ship, shielding her eyes against an imaginary sun. In the latest portrait she appears as an elderly woman wearing a hat and coat.
