Originally stored in an apothecary chest owned by Dr. Cyrus Pendleton of Hebron, Conn. Mortar is a cream-colored stoneware with cracks and lines from use. Lip on top edge for pestle. Inside of mortar is discolored from use. Pestle is made of a cream-colored stoneware and wood. The ceramic is at the base and the wood is the handle. Stoneware is cracked and discolored from use.
