DescriptionGirl's dress of tow-colored linen, with green, yellow, and mauve-colored plaid cotton trim. The plaid fabric is used on the turn-down collar and on the sleeve cuffs. The center front opening, which extends the length of the dress, is trimmed with the plaid along both sides to the level of the dropped waist. The waist in front has a peplum of the plaid; the edges of the peplum are bound with the plaid cut on the bias. A triple loop of the plaid hangs from the center front waist as a decoration. The dress opening fastens with twelve 3/4-inch-diameter abalone buttons. The back of the dress is closely fitted; it is made up of six pieces---side, side back, and center back panels. The peplum continues around the sides and ties together across the center back with long strips of the plaid. The center back skirt is tiered with a pleated eight-inch-long ruffle to give a bustle-like fullness (enhanced when the plaid ties are tied into a bow). The two-piece sleeves are closely fitted. They are set smoothly into the armscye, which is at the natural shoulderline. The dress is unlined.
