DescriptionGirl's dress of white cotton, printed with red and chartreuse ovals (matching the fabric of 1981.104.3). The neckline is wide and rounded, controlled by a drawstring and edged with piping. The bodice front is pleated in a fan pattern into the center front waistline, which is piped. The elbow-length sleeves are set into the armscye with two narrow pleats at the shoulder. They are slightly gathered into the elbow cuff, which is piped and edged with a self-fabric ruffle gathered on a cord. The full skirt is gathered into the waistband. The back of the bodice is straight and smooth from the shoulders to the waist. The center back opening extends about thirteen inches and fastens with a fabric-covered button and thread loop at the waist, metal hooks and thread eyes on the bodice, and the drawstring at the neck. The bodice is lined with plain, white cotton.
