DescriptionYoung boy's dress of black, ivory, and purple twill-woven plaid with a cotton warp and wool weft. The plain bodice has a wide neckline edged with piping. The short, straight sleeves are set smoothly into the piped armscye. The cartridge-pleated skirt is stitched to the waistline, which is also piped. The center back opening extends about thirteen inches and fastens with five black velvet-covered buttons on the bodice and a drawstring at the neckline. The bodice is lined with plain cotton. The back opening, and piping at the neckline and waistline, are machine chain-stiched. There is an in-seam pocket on the right side of the skirt front.
