DescriptionYoung boy's dress of purple wool printed with a clover-like design in black. The dress has a wide neck, bound with black velvet ribbon. The short sleeves are set into the bodice, raglan-style. They are gathered into the neck edge, and the opening edge is decorated with two rows of black velvet ribbon. The bodice is gathered into the neckline and into the 1 1/4-inch-wide waistband, which is piped along the lower edge. The skirt is flat at center front and pleated over the front of each hip. It is flat around the sides and then pleated again over the back of each hip. The bottom of the skirt is decorated with three rows of black velvet ribbon. The center back opening extends about twelve inches; it fastens with a hook and eye closure at the neck (the eye is missing). The waistband and sides of the bodice are lined with plain white cotton.
