DescriptionViews of houses, businesses, families, automobiles, a dam, and a harbor. Some houses are in the Italianate and Gothic styles. Children are shown with pets, including cats and dogs, and toys, including a doll and a wagon. One woman is on horseback. Some men and a boy are wearing baseball uniforms. Men pose in front of a coffee and tea shop with Japanese flags in the windows. Children pose in front of an A & P store holding boxes of Gold Dust Powder. Oyster boats are at a dock. The large hydroelectric dam is probably on the Housatonic River. A banner advertises political lectures by John T. King, Lynn W. Wilson, Jasper McLevy, and Theo T. Phillips at the Bridgeport Philosophical Society.
NotesSubject Note: John T. King (1890-1979) was a prominent Republican from Bridgeport. Jasper McLevy (1878-1962) of Bridgeport was a Socialist candidate for U.S. Representative in 1920. He was later elected Mayor of Bridgeport. (Finlay 12/15/2003)Status
