DescriptionWhite silk souvenir handkerchief, trimmed with 1 3/8-inch-wide machine net lace. The lace, which is dotted and has a scalloped edge, is applied flat to the silk. The corners are mitred. Decorative embroidery is stitched to a separate 2 1/4 x 3 5/8-inch strip of fine cotton which is machine-stitched to the handkerchief. The embroidery is satin-stitched in light blue with "Souvenir de France"; the year "1919" is embroidered in multiple colors with designs representing English, American, French, and other European countries' flags.
