DescriptionBoth matchboxes are made of brass.

(a) Matchbox has a helmet on the front, with a crest that reads "[illegible, probably 'GOTT SEI'] MIT UNS", "God be with us" in German. The side of the box is decorated with a four-leaf clover and a ribbon that reads "SOUVENIR DE FRANCE".

(b) Matchbox is decorated on the front with a crest with three fleur de lis, topped by a crown. Below the crest is a ribbon that reads "SIR DE FRANCE".
