DescriptionMan's shirt of white linen, with a 1 1/2-inch wide standing band collar. The center front opening extends 12 1/4 inches and fastens with six mother of pearl buttons (one is missing). The shirt front and back panels are cut as rectangles, joined at the shoulders and sides. The shoulder seam is inset with a gusset for accommodating the collar. The shirt is gathered into the band collar. The shoulders are reinforced with a T-shaped lining of self-fabric. The long sleeves are gathered into the shoulders and into a three-inch-wide cuff, which fastens with a single mother of pearl button. A large gusset under the arm provides ease. The side seams are open for twelve inches. The top is reinforced with a gusset.
