DescriptionGirl's dress of sheer, white cotton. It is sleeveless and has a square neckline edged with machine-made levers lace imitating filet. The dress falls straight from the shoulders to the hem, but there are pairs of three-inch-long slits finished with buttonhole stitching that would have been laced with a wide ribbon sash. The hem is cut in large scallops and edged with two rows of the levers lace, the outer row being slightly ruffled. The dress is decorated at the shoulders with five vertical tucks. At center front, it is embroidered with a vertical row of featherstitching, flanked by tucks and then an embroidered floral motif. The center back opening extends 7 3/4 inches and fastens with three mother of pearl buttons.
